SONG OF THE MUSIC MAKERS
Text: Rodney Bennet Music: Martin Shaw
Come, Music Makers, rouse up a song to set the echoes ringing,
A song of the truth in the heart of youth, a song for the joy of singing;
For the birds make music and the trees sing, and the wind joins song with the sea:
All the world makes a song of its own, and so in our turn will we.
Then sing, sing, Music Makers, a song for the joy of the singing.
Who listen to the song that we raise, their own part should be bearing
To speed on its way as best they may this song that was made for sharing.
There are times for hearing others singing, there are times for learning how,
Times as well for a song of our own, and the best of them all is now.
Then sing, sing, Music Makers, a song for the joy of the singing.
The song that is truly tuned with a will adds sun to any weather,
And turns our feet with its pulsing beat to take the road together;
Saying, “Front the hill with heart of courage till the rough, long journey's done,
Till you join in that last mighty song, and the goal of your hoping won.”
Then sing, sing, Music Makers, a song for the joy of the singing.
THE YAVNEH SCHOOL SONG
Lyrics & Music: Howard Wolfin
Y - a youth, a Jewish youth;
A - an association strong;
V - our voices ring out loud as we proudly sing this song.
N - our noble heritage is ever here to see;
E - our education fine,
H - we work in harmony.
Yavneh is our school so proud, we pull together as a team.
Builders all whether big or small, we're the hope of tomorrow's dream.
We are known for standards high, good effort is our rule,
That is why we are so proud to sing: "Yavneh is our school”.
Though we have to say farewell, we will do it with a smile,
For our dreams are coming true and our efforts have been worthwhile.
As you journey on life's road, if ever things go wrong,
Think of all that Yavneh taught, think of Yavneh's song.
